It is very discouraging to see the record of this steady flow of money to feminist/lesbian/anti-male organizations. Such groups would not even be in existence if they were not fed fresh truckloads of tax money each year. The purpose of this funding is to lobby the government to keep afloat out-dated feminist policies, such as universal day care, abortion rights, and the supremacy of women. Such funding is also used to resist fathers' efforts to obtain access to their children. For example, funding galore has gone to women's centres, which serve as agents of change for feminists in local communities across Canada.
Further, women's shelters (524 across Canada) enjoy magnanimous funding to, allegedly, provide protection from male assault, in spite of the fact that a Statistics Canada study, released in July 2003, found that more men were killed, hurt or threatened by their partners in 2001 than in previous years. The study "Family Violence in Canada," funded by the Federal Family Violence Initiative, found that spousal violence has increased for both men and women. In 2001, there were 344 incidents per 100,000 women, and for men, there were 62 incidents for every 100,000 men - the latter is up 40% from six years ago. Although there were many more incidents of assault against women, this does not mean that men should be neglected in this regard.
Studys have shown that an equal percentage of men were assaulted by their wifes as vice a versa. Research in the field of domestic violence over the past 25 years has generally shown that men and women act violent in relationships at about the same rate. Furthermore, men and women are equally likely to instigate violence against one another. The truth is surprisingly egalitarian: about half of all domestic violence occurs with both partners abusing each other. 25% occurs with only men assaulting women, and the other 25% occurs with only women assaulting men
On a different topic after looking at the 17 home grown terrorists arrested in Toronto, Canadians should not be surprised to see terrorism coming so close to home said former RCMP jihadism expert Tom Quiggin, now a University researcher in Singapore. "A clear sense of denial exists in Canada about the degree to which terrorism activity occurs." said Quiggins, Canadas only court recognized expert on Jihadism. He added, "Political correctness is wielded as a weapon against anyone who dares to speak out.Yet some of the worlds most infamous terrorists have operated in Canada almost unhindered for decades"
A reality check on any front says loudly we certainly do not need the political correctness of the left wing Liberals(NDP). Enough is enough.
